Vacation 2000 Photos
In August of 2000 Cathy's folks came over from Scotland for a visit. We
spent the first few days around Portland and then headed off to the Pacific
coast to a house we'd rented for a week. Here are a few pictures of the house
and beach, there should be more to follow.

The house at the beach. 4 bedrooms, 3 baths on three levels, and
a superb living room/kitchen on open plan. The top floor had one of
the bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a small dining/lounge area overlooking
the main living area. |

Right in the bay in front of the beach was Haystack Rock, and here's
a few views of it. The left hand one is taken from the balcony, the
others from the beach. Like most coastal areas it got pretty breezy
in the afternoons, so we spent time on the beach in the morning. The
house also had a back balcony, which was real nice first thing in the
morning, but looked inland, onto the new house construction. |

The house we rented was superb, right on the beach, and reasonably placed for
heading south to Lincoln City (20 mins.) and Newport (1 hour), or north to Tillamook
(25 mins). It cost $1000 for the week, and we'd rent it again. We're thinking
of inviting some friends and doing it again next year.
